The England international will face the Madrid duo in the Champions League tonight.
When questioned how he compares to Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr of Real Madrid, Arsenal star Bukayo Saka had an intriguing reaction.
Tonight, the Gunners will play Los Blancos at the Emirates in their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal first-leg game. The winner of both legs will then play either PSG or Aston Villa in the semi-finals
Because he hasnât won a major title despite being a vital member of his club or country, Bukayo Sakaâs status as a true world-class player has occasionally been questioned. When a reporter questioned the winger about his status with Mbappe and Vinicius, he responded angrily.
During Mondayâs pre-match news conference before the European encounter, Saka was quizzed by a journalist about how far he felt he was from players like the two Real Madrid attackers.
Saka was present with manager Mikel Arteta. Saka responded to the â very opinionatedâ query by stating that he did not consider himself to be on a lower level than the duo.
âI think itâs very opinionated. I think everyone will have something different to say. I donât really want to start sitting here saying theyâre a level above me and stuff like this because thatâs not the way I think. I just leave everyone to have their opinion, but other things will speak for itself,â said the Arsenal winger.
Saka scored in his first game back after missing three months due to a hamstring injury, coming off the bench to help his team defeat Fulham in Premier League.
After making a brief appearance in the second half of last weekendâs stalemate against Everton, many fans think Saka will start against the Spanish powerhouses.
Sakaâs overall goal statistics are lower than they were at the end of the 2023â24 season due to injuries, but his numbers are still pretty good, although not quite similar to those of Mbappe and Vinicius. In terms of total goal contributions, Sakaâs 23 is less than the Madrid starsâ 36 and 30.
