Neymar now has two months to prove himself.
Carlo Ancelotti changed the course of events just as Neymar’s time with the Brazil national team appeared to be coming to an end. The Italian coach stated that the forward still has a good chance of making the final team with just two months till the World Cup.
The coach was straightforward, according to remarks: Neymar is still being assessed and has a short window of time to demonstrate his merit.
Ancelotti opens door for Neymar’s return to Brazil squad

Ancelotti’s position is unambiguous but not conclusive. The opening line was –
“He has two months to show he has the necessary qualities. Neymar is capable of coming back… I will only call up players who are physically ready,” Carlo Ancelotti told L’Equipe.
Neymar hasn’t played for Brazil since October 2023 due to a major knee injury, so the problem is clear. His comeback has been erratic ever since, as he has struggled to establish rhythm and return to peak form.
In spite of this, the coach stressed that “he has come back strong” and is already scoring goals, which maintains his prospects.
This is not your typical scrutinised player. Neymar’s name still carries a lot of weight because he is Brazil’s all-time best scorer with 79 goals.
Fans yelled his name even during the national team’s most recent defeat to France, demonstrating how deeply ingrained his presence is in Brazilian football culture.
The time is running out. Neymar is facing what may be the final significant opportunity of his international career as the World Cup is scheduled to take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada from June 11 to July 19.
The possible addition of the No. 10 might drastically alter the team’s ceiling as Brazil consider its options in a group with Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland.
However, there is another possibility: his career with the national team may quietly end if he is unable to achieve peak performance promptly.
