The pitch is 68 metres: Carlo Ancelotti on which position Kylian Mbappe will play at Real Madrid
Mbappe could operate as striker for Los Blancos this upcoming season.
Carlo Ancelotti provided a coy reply when asked by former Chelsea player John Obi Mikel in which position he would see Kylian Mbappe playing for Real Madrid next season.
The Frenchman might be able to play wherever in the attacking line, according to Ancelotti’s assessment. It will be difficult for Ancelotti to put the former AS Monaco star on the left, especially with players like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo in the squad. But the latter is versatile and can play on the right, thus we can expect Vinicius and Mbappe to rotate positions during the game.
Mbappe finally decided to make his dream move after confirming that he wouldn’t extend his deal with Paris Saint-Germain in January. Though he did not reveal which team he would join, from the reports, it was obvious that he would sign for Real Madrid.
His move to Madrid has finally transpired after the LaLiga giant’s repeated attempts to bring the forward to the club in past seasons. Mbappe came close to joining the Madrid team in 2022 before he decided to extend his PSG deal by another two years, with an option to extend further.
However, this time the 25-year-old made sure that he wouldn’t be extending his agreement with the French club and opted to inform them that he would leave as a free agent in the summer.
Madrid seems to be forming Galacticos once again after they acquired Jude Bellingham last summer. They already boast the likes of Vinicius, Rodrygo, Arda Guler, and now Mbappe joins in the attacking line.
However, one of the biggest headaches for Ancelotti would be where to play the Frenchman in the attacking line. When asked about the situation, he said:
” I see him play in front and the attack is quite wide The pitch is 68 metres. We have to cover the 68 meters with the players in front. It can be Vinicius because when I’m asked where he played last season it is difficult to say because he didn’t play as a left-winger and the same with Rodrygo. He starts on the right but sometimes shifts to the middle of the left. ”
So far it has been understood that Mbappe will play as No.9 for Madrid next season meaning the attacking front could be of Vinicius and Rodrygo on the wings.
Mbappe will be hoping to make waves for Madrid and aiming to win his first UEFA Champions League with them. He set new records and won everything with PSG, barring the UCL trophy despite reaching the 2019 final. This time he will attempt to finally get his hands on the European trophy with his new club.
