Carlo Ancelotti reveals Kylian Mbappe is fit to play against Real Betis

The Frenchman missed the midweek Copa del Rey clash vs Real Sociedad.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti announced that Kylian Mbappe, who missed Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey semi-final first-leg match against Real Sociedad midweek due to dental surgery, is healthy enough to play against Real Betis this weekend.
After having a wisdom tooth taken out, the France forward missed Wednesday’s 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad in the first leg of the Cup semifinal.
Confirming his availability for the next game, Ancelotti said: “Kylian Mbappé is back. He’s available to play and excited to help as always”.
It appeared that Mbappe would play against Sociedad when the Italian head coach revealed he was going to travel with the squad. However, Mbappé didn’t appear fully fit after his tooth extraction, and when the team announced their travelling squad for the encounter, Mbappé’s name was not there.
But the forward was pictured in training ahead of their Saturday LaLiga clash. It will be a major boost for Ancelotti’s side. A win will see them go top of the table as they are currently points equal with first place Barcelona.
Later they will prepare for a blockbuster Tuesday game when they host Atletico Madrid in the opening leg of their Champions League last-16 match.
With 14 goals in his previous 12 games in all competitions, Kylian Mbappe has been playing well lately and will look to add more goals to his tally when he faces Betis.
Ancelotti provides other players’ updates
Ancelotti will have to make midfield changes as Jude Bellingham will watch the match from the stands after he was suspended for two games.
Meanwhile, Fede Valverde will not play in tomorrow’s match. The Italian disclosed, saying: “Fede Valverde will not play tomorrow, he’s had a small problem and so he won’t be available. Fede will return vs Atlético Madrid.”
Dani Ceballos, who suffered a hamstring injury against Sociedad, is set to be sidelined for two months.
