The 2022 FIFA World Cup winner has lost his importance at the London club.

According to sources, Chelsea have changed their position on Enzo Fernandez and are prepared to approve a blockbuster departure in 2026 for the “right price.” In an attempt to profit from this surprising development at Stamford Bridge, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are now on high alert. They are getting ready to test the waters for the World Cup winner.

Teamtalk claims that the Stamford Bridge leadership has indicated that the 25-year-old is no longer regarded as “untouchable.” This is despite the Argentine international being a key component of the Blues’ recent success, notably their victory in the UEFA Conference League last season.

According to the report, Chelsea are open to negotiation as long as their valuation is satisfied. One must not forget that Enzo Fernandez’s contract is still far from up, 2032.

He signed with the team in February 2023 for a then-British record £106.8 million from SL Benfica. However, no player is completely off-limits due to the club’s constant desire to improve their roster and the financial realities of contemporary football.

Enzo Fernandez was previously seen by Chelsea as the project’s indispensable cornerstone. Now that a summer 2026 transfer is possible, the other top clubs in Europe, who had previously believed the midfield player was beyond reach, are going crazy.

It is said that Chelsea want to rebalance their books and possibly finance a fresh round of hiring. Giving up one of their most valuable assets would be the most effective way to do so.

Real Madrid, the Spanish powerhouse, are in the lead in the competition to sign Fernandez. Los Blancos have identified a lack of composure in possession as a major problem this season. They are apparently anxious to add a top-tier controller to their engine room.

Florentino Perez, the president of Madrid, is reportedly eager to correct a strategic mistake made in the summer of 2025 when Madrid were unable to sign Martin Zubimendi.
