Chelsea's route to UEFA Conference League final 2024-25

The Blues will face Spanish side Real Betis in the final.
Real Betis and Chelsea will square off in the UEFA Conference League final at Stadion Wrocław in Poland. They are both vying for victory in the competition for the first time
Chelsea may become the first team to win all five major UEFA competition championships, while Betis, the first Spanish team to advance to the Conference League final, hopes to win their first European trophy in their first continental final.
This is the 17th time that Spanish and English teams have faced off in a UEFA knockout final. Spanish teams have prevailed in 11 of the last 16 games, including the last nine.
Chelsea’s road to the UEFA Conference League final
Round of 16: Copenhagen 1-3 Chelsea (on aggregate)
After defeating FC Copenhagen 1-0 in the second leg, the Blues advanced to the UEFA Conference League quarterfinals with a 3-1 aggregate victory.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored the game’s lone goal to secure their spot, while Reece James and Enzo Fernandes both scored in the first leg to give them a one-goal advantage heading into the second leg. Enzo Maresca’s team had a 2-1 aggregate lead from the first leg that kept them as favourites in the return leg.
Quarterfinal: Legia Warsaw 2-4 Chelsea (on aggregate)
The English side were always going to be the favourites going into this match. They saw off another side in the tournament this time to secure their place in the semi-final of the competition. The Blues defeated Legia Warszawa 0-3 away from home in the first leg.
It helped put one foot into the semi-final of the tournament. But in the return leg, the West Londoners suffered a shocking defeat as Warszawa almost pulled a comeback on their head following goals from T. Pekhart and S. Kapuadi. But given the Blues’ strong lead in the first leg, they reached the semi-final of the competition with a 2-4 aggregate.
Semi-final: Chelsea 5-1 Djurgarden (on aggregate)
The Blues’ matchup with the Swedish team Djurgården in the semi-final was an easy game for them. They took full control of the match after winning 4-1 on the road in the first leg with two goals from Jadon Sancho, and one each from Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson.
Meanwhile, in the second leg, the English side put up a sub-par performance but managed to get the job done through Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s fourth goal of the season. It helped them complete a 5-1 aggregate triumph at Stamford Bridge in the second leg.
