Top 20 clubs with highest revenue in 2024-25 season; Man United fall to lowest position
The Red Devils suffered a massive loss in revenue generation in the previous season.
Liverpool are now the highest-revenue-generating English team for the first time, while Manchester United have dropped to their lowest spot in the Deloitte Football Money League.
The Red Devils, who have won the Money League in 10 of its 29 seasons, most recently in 2017, were originally thought to be the model for football’s commercial success.
However, due in part to their exclusion from the UEFA Champions League in 2024–2025, Manchester United’s broadcast revenue fell from €258 million [£216.72 million] to €206 million [£172.9 million] in 2026.
Due to their complete exclusion from European competition, the club are expected to make even less money on matchdays this season. They will only play 20 competitive games at Old Trafford in 2025–2026 after failing to go past the first round of both domestic cups.
Liverpool are now ranked sixth following its 2024–2025 Champions League comeback and a 7% rise in Anfield’s non-matchday earnings.Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain have all benefited by competing well in the recently expanded Champions League and the expanded FIFA Club World Cup in the summer, making it the first time an English team didn’t finish in the top four of the Money League.
According to Deloitte, the 10 Money League clubs that participated in the Club World Cup had an average increase in television earnings of 17%.
In the 2027 Money League, which will be among the first to take into account the new television agreement that spans through 2029, Premier League teams could anticipate doing better overall. However, Bridge stated that the top-performing teams will still be those that combine success on the field with diversification off it.
