Top three clubs Marcus Rashford can join if he leaves Manchester United
Rashford’s future at Manchester United has increasingly grown uncertain.
Marcus Rashford’s shocking admission that he is prepared for a “new challenge” cast doubt on his future. The Manchester United footballer was not in the lineup as his team defeated rivals City 2-1 at the Etihad. Additionally, there are rumours that the club were prepared to sell the England international.
When his contract was set to expire in 2023, he was linked to Paris Saint-Germain, one of the biggest teams in Ligue 1. But after his contract was extended last year, he remained at Old Trafford. However, now the Red Devils have made their stance clear and are open to selling the player in January.
Here, we examine three teams that Marcus Rashford might join given the uncertainty surrounding his future.
3. Bayern Munich
Rashford was linked to the German powerhouses shortly after the summer transfer window earlier in the season. Rashford would be tempted by a move after his compatriot Harry Kane joined them. Despite not playing at his best this season, the Englishman is still an effective player who could help Bayern Munich.
In the long term, paying about £40 million to sign him can turn out to be a great deal. Given that he is still 27 and at the height of his abilities, the player might be persuaded to join them. In the upcoming seasons, they could support him in his pursuit of significant trophies.
2. Barcelona
According to reports, after the Spanish giants missed out on signing Nico Williams last summer, they have turned their focus on Marcus Rashford. Although Barcelona have plenty of wide alternatives, Rashford’s ability to play centrally may be crucial given that Robert Lewandowski is already 36, and is not getting any younger.
Although the Blaugrana have plenty of options up front, a Rashford move may give players like Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati—who haven’t played at their best in recent seasons due to injuries and bad play—more competition.
1. Paris Saint-Germain
Over the past few seasons, Rashford has been strongly linked to the French champions. Rashford has the chance to take Neymar’s place on the left wing since PSG haven’t completely replaced him yet.
However, he cannot really match the star power they have had in the past, such as Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Lionel Messi, or even Zlatan Ibrahimovic. But Rashford is undoubtedly superior or at least equivalent (when he is at his best) to every player on their roster right now.
