Top three clubs that should target Viktor Gyökeres next summer

Many European clubs are interested in signing the 26-year-old.
Viktor Gyokeres, the rising star on the European football scene, has taken the footballing world by storm since last season. Gyokeres emerged in the past campaign as one of the underrated strikers in Europe, after scoring 43 goals in 50 games across all competitions.
The forward for Sporting CP is playing at his peak right now, and scouts around the continent are taking notice of his ability. Gyokeres, one of Europe’s best, is headed towards a future where he will play for teams in the big leagues. The following three teams are the ones that should compete for the Swedish international in the summer transfer window.
3. Chelsea
Chelsea should be in line to add the striker next summer or in January. They need an experienced centre-forward in front of the goal and not just young players. The Blues have many top attacking players who can act as a provider and feed the balls to the Swedish striker.
Gyokeres would be a fitting addition to the team’s offensive strategy. His contract contains an £86 million release clause. This much money should not be a major concern for Chelsea and their current owner, Todd Boehly, who is a big spender.
2. Barcelona
Barcelona are also seeking a long-term investment in a striker. Their Polish star Robert Lewandowski turned 36 this year. He may still seem like a dependable player on the pitch, but his days are numbered at the club. In the near future, Blaugrana will require a new name for a sustainable team.
Meanwhile, their January signing Vitor Roque was loaned to Real Betis for his development. Roque has not been seen as Lewandowski’s backup. Barcelona will soon need a clinical striker next summer if they are to remain one of the solid sides in the attack and maybe Gyokeres could fill those shoes.
1. Arsenal
Arsenal have also expressed interest in signing Gyokeres. The Premier League team are looking to add a quality striker given the recurring injuries to Gabriel Jesus, which has seen the Gunners play without an out-and-out striker. The Gunners need a ruthless centre-forward whose addition can challenge City for the league title.
Gyokeres is no stranger to London. He moved to Brighton in 2018 and played there until 2023 before moving to Portugal. Though he never really played for the Seagulls, the striker did feature for Swansea City and Coventry City during his loan spells there. Hence he shouldn’t take much time transitioning to the English Premier League.
