The full-back’s future at Los Blancos has become uncertain.
The signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid has not been a dream. After his Anfield contract expired in the summer, the England defender signed a permanent contract with the Spanish powerhouses.
This week, his time at the Bernabeu took a new turn. According to rumours from Spain, the defender’s current manager, Alvaro Arbeloa, may have advised him to leave the team.
It remains to be seen if that is the case. But in any case, we have examined various possible destinations for the former Liverpool player if he chooses to leave Spain.
Five possible destinations for Trent:
5. Saudi clubs
A shift to the Middle East would seem like a logical choice for Trent Alexander-Arnold, given the ambitious financials of any agreement, though this one is a little dishonest. If he were to join one of the Saudi Arabian clubs, he would follow the paths of other former Liverpool stars such as Georginio Wijnaldum, Sadio Mane, and Darwin Nunez.
He may decide to stay in Europe. But if he shows interest, moving to Saudi Arabia might be an option.
4. Liverpool

Given the criticism Trent Alexander-Arnold received for his decision to leave Liverpool for Real Madrid, this may be highly contentious. It’s unclear whether he has burned his bridges at Anfield, as his departure naturally left fans unhappy.
However, he would undoubtedly be a fantastic addition to the Reds. Once more, it’s difficult to predict if Liverpool would be open to having him return.
3. Bayern Munich
German champions Bayern Munich might be among the teams that genuinely need right-backs. Sacha Boey has been permitted to depart the Allianz Arena. All of their existing right-backs are sidelined due to injuries.
Bayern would be adding another sparkling star to their already excellent team if they made a move. If they do, they might become the Champions League favourites right away.
2. PSG
Even though French powerhouse PSG have one of the top right-backs in the world in Achraf Hakimi, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Ligue 1 winners expand their alternatives.
Trent Alexander-Arnold would undoubtedly be a star-studded arrival. Additionally, PSG would be more than willing to satisfy Trent Alexander-Arnold’s demands for wages and fees.
1. Manchester City
There are undoubtedly many Premier League teams that would be thrilled to have Trent Alexander-Arnold’s skills on their roster outside of his previous team. But only a small number would be able to afford a transfer. Manchester City are the most prominent of those teams, having already made significant financial investments in January when they signed Marc Guehi and Antoine Semenyo.
Right now, Pep Guardiola’s choices for a right back are Rico Lewis and Matheus Nunes, though Trent Alexander-Arnold is superior to both of them.
Any transfer would undoubtedly depend on the defender choosing to sign with one of Liverpool’s contemporary rivals. It is still unclear if he would be prepared to do so.
