Chelsea stalwart Cole Palmer has penned down a new contract with the Blues that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2033. The forward joined the club from Manchester City last summer and instantly became a cult hero at the club.
His performance made him a household name after he ended the season with 25 goals and contributed 15 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.
Chelsea have been waiting to reward Palmer with a new deal and improved wages ever since he broke through at the club since his move. He was instrumental in helping the Blues secure a European spot.
His performance at the club level saw him get picked up for Englandâs squad for Euro 2024 where he scored a goal in the final in a 2-1 defeat against Spain.
Palmer has already become a hot prospect in Europe and he has been shortlisted for the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year awards to be announced in Salford next week. He also claimed the Premier League Young Player of the Season award for 2023-24.
Palmer has now returned to training after his extended vacation and will be ready to face his former club in the 2024-25 opening game against Manchester City.
He will once again be an important player for next season as the Blues start a new campaign under Enzo Maresca after the club decided to part ways with Mauricio Pochettino on mutual consent who led the club to sixth place finish.
Meanwhile, Palmer has already played under Maresca when the Italian was the assistant coach of Manchester City. Palmer was unearthed by Maresca before he decided to leave the club due to less game time.
Palmer will be no stranger to the Maresca system and will once again look to replicate his last seasonâs performance in the upcoming term.
