Colombia announce squad for March international break; James Rodriguez included

The Tricolour will face Brazil and Paraguay in the World Cup qualifiers.
On Thursday, Colombia revealed their team for the forthcoming games against Paraguay and Brazil. If Colombia manage five more points under Nestor Lorenzo, they will guarantee a spot in the 2026 World Cup.
Colombia will try to guarantee their spot in the 2026 World Cup by playing in the 13th and 14th rounds of the South American World Cup qualifiers, with playmaker James Rodriguez of Leon and forward Luis Diaz of Liverpool leading the list of call-ups.
On March 20, the team, led by Argentine manager Nestor Lorenzo, will travel to Brazil at the Mane Garrincha stadium in Brasilia. Five days later, on March 25, they will meet Paraguay at the Metropolitano stadium in Barranquilla.
With 19 points, the Cafeteros are now in fourth place. They need five more to earn a spot in the World Cup, which will take place in the US, Canada, and Mexico the following year. They might, however, guarantee their spot with fewer points, contingent on other outcomes.
The two primary additions for Colombia’s upcoming doubleheader are midfielder Jaminton Campaz from Rosario Central, who hasn’t played since 2023, and attacker Marino Hinestroza from Atletico Nacional, who was recently picked up for the first time.
Other constants in the team include strikers Jhon Cordoba (Krasnodar) and Jhon Jader Duran (Al Nassr), who has excelled with his exploits for the Arab club; midfielder Jhon Arias (Fluminense); full-back Daniel Munoz (Crystal Palace); and central defender Davinson Sanchez (Galatasaray).
