Court reject Barcelona's second appeal to register Dani Olmo

The Spanish star won’t be able to play for the club from 1st January.
Barcelona have lost another attempt to register Spain forward Dani Olmo for the remainder of the season, one day before the closing date of the deadline day.
In August, Barcelona reportedly paid €60 million (£51 million) to sign the forward from RB Leipzig of Germany, which was the club’s only summer acquisition.
However, because Barcelona were unable to meet LaLiga’s pay limit restrictions, he was only registered for the first half of the season.
Dani Olmo might not be able to play for the team starting on January 1st after a court last week denied Barcelona’s request to re-register him, and a second court supported the ruling on Monday.
LaLiga claim that because “none of the conditions necessary for the adoption of the precautionary measure were met,” the court denied Olmo’s precautionary registration.
“This has never been questioned by any club, including Barcelona,” La Liga added, defending the authority of its Delegate Commission to approve its spending regulations.
The Spanish league claimed that its Budget Validation Body was the first to decide not to authorize Olmo, a young player at Barcelona who departed for Dinamo Zagreb at the age of 16.
The Spanish Football Federation’s Uefa Second Instance Licensing Committee, its Financial Fair Play Committee, and its Social Appeals Committee subsequently confirmed it three times.
Barcelona could sell more levers to register Dani Olmo
After choosing the legal path, Barcelona must now find another way to register Olmo before he becomes a free agent, as Premier League clubs are apparently keen on signing with the January window set to open.
According to Spanish media, the team intends to sell VIP boxes at its Camp Nou stadium, which might generate over 100 million euros. However, LaLiga’s approval is required.
Dani Olmo, who has produced six goals in 15 games for Barcelona this season, assisted Spain in winning the European Championship in the summer. Atletico Madrid currently lead LaLiga by three points, while Hansi Flick’s team are currently in third place despite the strong start to the season.
