The Portuguese is linked with the takeover of a minority stake at Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been told to take over a club in the EFL, which would put him in direct competition with Elon Musk.

Because of their achievements at Wrexham, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney continue to serve as the archetypes for celebrity investors in British football. Hollywood celebrities Will Ferrell and Michael B. Jordan, as well as NFL legends Tom Brady and JJ Watt, have joined them, though.

It has already been suggested that Tesla tycoon Musk, the richest man in the world, might think about acquiring League Two team Cheltenham Town if he wants to go into the sports business. Talks of another eye-catching acquisition seem to be imminent.

Five-time winner of the Ballon d’Or, Cristiano Ronaldo is being pushed in a similar direction, as the 40-year-old forward for Portugal and Al-Nassr nears the end of his career. There have been rumours that one of the all-time greats will become a coach or take over a team.

Professor Rob Wilson, a specialist in football finance, said Genting Casino, which provides the newest casino games:

“As I said recently about Elon Musk potentially getting involved in football, Cheltenham Town is a massively undervalued asset with great financial fundamentals. So if an investor wants to look at a football club, they would do no worse than have a look at Cheltenham Town Football Club because it is really positioned nicely in a list of most attractive footballing assets.”

“The reality for Musk or Ronaldo now is, with the greatest respect, it’s pocket change to them because they are that wealthy. Now it can have a transformative impact on the club and bring a huge amount of benefit.”

“But I don’t really think you get that kind of investment return that you’re looking for, because you’re not looking for a few million, you’re for tens of or hundreds or Champions League trophies that you can boast that you’re the club that you’ve invested in as one.”

While Cristiano Ronaldo is busy growing his commercial empire, there have been rumours that he could join Reynolds and McElhenney at Wrexham. But it might be a while before he hangs up record-breaking boots for the last time.
