The Portuguese will become a free agent after six months.
Reports from Saudi have revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed to extend his deal with Al-Nassr. He has accepted a multimillion-dollar offer to continue playing in the Saudi Pro League.
The Portuguese phenom now has six months left on his contract. The reports from other sources confirmed that Ronaldo might plot a return back to Europe, though now it seems he will continue playing for more years at Al-Nassr.
It is understood that Ronaldo, who will turn 40 in February will extend his deal for another year. In this way, the former Manchester United forward can also prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Once the agreement is confirmed the 39-year-old will continue to remain the highest paid football player, earning over €200 million per season. His weekly salary will reach €3.8 million, which translates to more than half a million euros per day.
Ever since joining the Saudi club Ronaldo has been instrumental in Al-Nassr‘s wins. The player has also been their main goalscorer, producing 75 goals and providing 18 assists in 84 matches.
However, Ronaldo has not won enough trophies after signing for the club as his only achievement has come by winning the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup. Hopefully this season he will aim to get his hands on big silverware such as the league title and the AFC Champions League Elite trophy.
Currently, Al-Nassr are third in the table nine points behind both Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal. Any hope of challenging for the title will dwell on how long can they sustain their winning run after opening the second part of the campaign with a win.
The club will also look to complete the extension of the Portuguese star quickly as their main objective is to end the season on a high note. Al-Nassr will now next be seen in action against Al-Taawoun in the Saudi Pro League.
