Ronaldo lifted his second UEFA Nations League trophy with Portugal.

Cristiano Ronaldo has ended rumours regarding his future by confirming that he will play for Al-Nassr again next season.

The Portuguese was linked with an exit for the upcoming summer window, after Al-Nassr once again went another season trophyless, which saw speculations of the former Real Madrid star leaving the Saudi club.

However, the 40-year-old has now put those rumours to an end after confirming in an interview following Portugal’s win in the UEFA Nations League final against Spain yesterday.

After Portugal beat Spain to take home the UEFA Nations League, the 40-year-old recently celebrated winning his third international trophy. After the game ended in a 2-2 draw, Ronaldo’s 138th goal for his country helped force a penalty shootout.

The seasoned forward, who had been replaced by that point, watched from the sidelines as Portugal won the trophy with all five of their penalty kicks converted.

‘Nothing will change’: Cristiano Ronaldo on Al Nassr future

Ronaldo stated after the win that he intends to remain with the Saudi Pro League team.

“My future? Basically nothing is gonna change,” he said. When asked directly if he would remain at Al-Nassr, Ronaldo responded: “Yes.”

In addition to his Euro 2016 and 2019 Nations League medals, Ronaldo’s increasing collection of international honours now includes another Nations League crown. The five-time Champions League champion broke down in tears after the heartfelt victory.

This also means that he will not be participating in the 32-team FIFA Club World Cup, which begins in the United States on June 14. He has been linked to a number of teams that will compete in the competition.

Ronaldo currently has made 111 appearances since joining Al-Nassr from Manchester United in December 2022, scoring 99 goals.
