Cristiano Ronaldo hints at retirement, potentially managerial run & more
Ronaldo says he could retire at Al-Nassr.
Cristiano Ronaldo at the age of 39 has shown little sign of slowing down. He continues to score goals left and right. But there will certainly be a time when he will have to make the tough call regarding his future.
The former Manchester United player alluded to his impending retirement in a recent interview. He said he would ‘soon’ make the announcement and that Al-Nassr could probably be his final football club.
Ronaldo said to Portuguese channel NOW: “I don’t know if I’ll finish soon or in two or three years. But, possibly, it will be at Al Nassr. It’s the team where I’m happy, where I’m good, where I feel good, both in the country and in the league. That’s why, most likely I can finish my career at Al-Nassr. I’m very happy to play in the Arab league and I want to continue.”
Cristiano Ronaldo further added: “It’s very difficult to think that I will be a manager one day”.
“In my mind, I’m not considering to be the head coach of any football team. I don’t even think about it”.
“Probably I see my future doing things out of football.”
The 39-year-old has been playing top-level football since 2002. That is almost 22 years, ever since he broke through to the footballing world the player has remained the face of the sport. In his career, before joining Al-Nassr, he has plied his trade with Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.
Ronaldo has won many titles that too with every European club he has played for. The player even has won too many personal accolades. Now the striker has commented that he is likely to hang his boots with the Saudi club.
In his career, the player has enjoyed numerous impressive moments with every club. At Real Madrid, he cemented himself as one of the greatest football players. Since then he has only become more popular. Now the player is currently playing for Saudi club Al-Nassr.
Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Saudi side in 2022 when he left Manchester United. The striker has been in phenomenal form for the Middle Eastern club. In 67 games, he has scored 61 goals and registered 16 assists.
However, he has yet to win a trophy. Maybe this campaign could prove to be one when he finally lifts the title with the Saudi outfit.
For now, the fans will savour the moment until he is on the pitch. Once Cristiano Ronaldo makes that final call on his career it will certainly be one of the saddest days in football history. The player has entertained football fans with his performance over the course of his playing career.
