Portugal recently qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Now their captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, is scheduled to visit the White House on Tuesday to meet President Donald Trump.

The United States, Canada, and Mexico will share hosting duties for the World Cup next year, and Cristiano Ronaldo will be one of the main draws.

Prior to the World Cup, an upcoming friendly match involving the Portuguese superstar and the US men’s national team is apparently being discussed.

According to MS NOW, one of football’s biggest heroes will now meet Trump, who has previously invited FIFA President Gianni Infantino to the White House.

Cristiano Ronaldo recently declared that he would like to meet President Donald Trump. It seems his wish has been granted. According to the story, three White House sources have verified that Ronaldo will travel on the same day that Trump is supposed to meet with Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.

Given that Ronaldo plays club football for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, it is still unknown whether the meetings are related.

“Here, in the United States – wherever it happens, I’d like to meet him,” Ronaldo said. “I know he’s been to Saudi Arabia. I hope to sit down with him someday because he’s one of those people I really like. I think he can make things happen, and I respect people like that.”

“I hope the world finds a path to peace soon,” Ronaldo added. “That’s what I’m looking for. And someday, if I get the chance to sit down with him, I’ll tell him what we have in common. But I’ll keep it to myself until that moment.”
