Ronaldo’s current contract runs out after the end of the season.

According to Sportitalia, 40-year-old forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered a new two-year deal by Saudi team Al Nassr. Ronaldo will become a free agent in the summer if he doesn’t sign a contract before his current terms expire in June 2025 but now a two-year offer will see the player remain until 2027.

With 30 goals in 34 games this season, the Portugal international is still scoring and is prepared to advance in his career. Cristiano Ronaldo declared in August that he would remain at Al Nassr until the conclusion of his career, but he acknowledged that this may happen “soon, or in two or three years.”

This move not only puts an end to rumours of a possible transfer to Inter Miami or a return to Europe, but it also suggests the Portuguese player’s long-term goal of continuing to be a major player in Saudi Arabian football.

The 40-year-old Portuguese superstar has maintained his impressive consistency on the field. With 30 goals in 34 games this season, Cristiano Ronaldo has allayed fears and reaffirmed his status as one of the best players, even in the latter stages of his career.

But the story is about more than just objectives. For the Saudi Pro League team, this is a symbolic decision as much as a sporting one and since his arrival in Middle Eastern, the hype for football has only increased.

Although specifics were first kept secret, reports from Sportitalia and Transfermarkt have now verified that Cristiano Ronaldo will remain under the new contract until June 2027 if the new deal is signed.

If he signs the two-year extension, he will be around 42 by then. Although the precise numbers are still being determined, it is believed to be one of the most lucrative deals in international football, which is appropriate given his reputation as a worldwide superstar.

The story of CR7 may not be concluding in Miami, Manchester, or Madrid, but rather in Riyadh. Ronaldo still has many trophies to win as he is yet to lift any major title with Al-Nassr. The forward will be eyeing to win Saudi Pro League and AFC Champions League trophies.
