The 40-year-old deal with Al-Nassr will expire at the end of the season.
Marca has reported that a Brazilian club has made an offer to Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the Club World Cup. Although the identity of the bidder for the Portugal veteran remains unknown, it is said to be a sizable offer with considerable input from outside investors.
Palmeiras, Flamengo, Fluminense and Botafogo are the four Brazilian teams competing in the first expanded competition in the United States next month.
In response to claims that Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered to join Botafogo ahead of the Club World Cup, coach Renato Paiva stated, “You can’t say no to a star like that.”
Marca further revealed that an unidentified Brazilian club made Cristiano Ronaldo an alluring offer on Sunday, which would allow the Al Nassr captain to participate in the Club World Cup.
With no titles and no qualification for the Asian Champions League next season, Ronaldo’s current team, Al Nassr, have had a challenging season. Since joining the Saudi team in 2023, the 40-year-old attacker has scored 97 goals in 109 games.
Al-Nassr failed to qualify for FIFA Club World Cup 2025
Al-Nassr’s failure to qualify for the Club World Cup has now seen speculations about the Portuguese joining any Brazilian team who are set to compete in the tournament during the summer.
However, currently, nothing appears concrete as Cristiano Ronaldo’s future also remains in doubt, whether he will continue playing for Al-Nassr once his deal expires after the end of the season, despite rumours of the Portuguese being handed a contract offer by the Saudi club.
With the season coming to an end, Ronaldo is set to decide about his future despite being 40, as he feels he still has many more years left to play top-level football. The former Real Madrid player has another ambition of scoring 1000 career goals before he retires from the sport.
In the current campaign, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner and skipper of Portugal has made 39 appearances for the Saudi team in all competitions, scoring 33 goals.
