Cristiano Ronaldo's son called up to Portugal U16 squad

For the first time, Cristiano Ronaldo’s son has been called up to join Portugal’s U-16 team. Cristiano Jr.’s development in his youth football team has been noticed by the national team at the youth level.

Like his father, he has decided to pursue his football career. The young player is already making strides in his playing career, having already starred for renowned academies so far.

The 22-player lineup for the Federation Cup Competition in Turkey includes 15-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., who is currently playing for Al-Nassr‘s academy team in Saudi Arabia.

His progress has been commendable. The recent call-up to the Portugal U16 side is an illustration of his playing qualities, which have been monitored by the national side.

Teams from England, Wales, and Turkey will compete in the youth competition from October 30 to November 4.

Cristiano Jr. is following in his father’s (Cristiano Ronaldo’s) footsteps

This selection follows his May call-up to the Portugal Under-15 squad. His rapid development raises the possibility that he could play alongside his father one day. Meanwhile, it will be too soon to make such comments.

But Cristiano Ronaldo’s longevity in the sport could see a father-son duo playing alongside each other or as opponents in the coming years.

The Portuguese star is also aspiring to reach another career high record after setting his eyes on 1,000 career goals.

Ronaldo, who made an appearance for the under-15 team in 2001, has scored the most goals in men’s international football with 143 goals in 223 caps for Portugal. He has won two UEFA Nations League titles and Euro 2016 with the senior national team.
