Amorim was recently appointed as the new head coach of the Red Devils.

Teddy Sheringham, a former Manchester United player, claims that while Cristiano Ronaldo would be “very welcome” at United, Ronaldo is anticipated to “follow in David Beckham’s path.”

Ronaldo, a Portuguese superstar, has played for Old Trafford twice. He won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, and the Ballon d’Or in his first stint before moving to Real Madrid on a then-world-record fee. CR7’s release as a free agent after a thrilling interview with Piers Morgan marked the end of the second spell.

Even though Ronaldo is 39 years old, he is still scoring goals for Al-Nassr and Portugal frequently. However, retiring is no longer a pipe dream. With the record-breaking boots nearing time to hang up, there is already speculation about what he will do.

A coaching career has been discussed. Meanwhile, former Sporting manager Ruben Amorim is getting ready to take over at United. Ronaldo might be tempted to work alongside his countryman. But Sheringham, the 1999 treble winner, can see the all-time great following in the footsteps of another legendary United No. 7.

However, as of now, Cristiano Ronaldo is currently more focused on playing for several more years before making any decision on his retirement. Hence, it won’t be soon to see the former Real Madrid player doing anything other than playing.

Ex-Red Devils striker Sheringham has told Flash Score: “Cristiano Ronaldo would be very welcome back at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim, but he is onto bigger and better things. I think that Ronaldo will follow in the path of David Beckham in doing things away from coaching, higher profile things around the world. I’m sure he’d be very, very welcome in any capacity coming back to the club, but I doubt that he’ll be a coach.”

Ronaldo is currently concentrating on achieving 1,000 career goals. Any moves into coaching or club investing are options to be addressed for later. It is unclear how long Amorim will stay at United as he prepares for the most challenging Premier League positions.

He will start his Manchester United reign on November 11 and will address many flaws which Erik ten Hag failed to correct during his two-and-a-half years at the club.
