Abdullah says the Portuguese superstar is enjoying his life in Saudi Arabia.

Former Al-Nassr goalie Waleed Abdullah has made the shocking assertion that Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo is thinking about converting to Islam. During a recent appearance on an Arab television program, Abdullah made these remarks, sparking conversations about Ronaldo’s growing cultural ties to Saudi Arabia.

According to the report, Abdullah stated that Ronaldo’s willingness to convert is a result of his good relationship with Saudis. ”Ronaldo is sincere in his desire to become an Islamic convert. He showed interest when I discussed it with him,” Abdullah said.

He also cited Cristiano Ronaldo’s post-goal prostration on the field and his encouragement of his teammates to follow their religious traditions as examples of his respect for Islamic customs.

Abdullah highlighted that the football icon is constantly studying Islamic customs and rituals to better engage with his fellow investors in the Al-Nassr squad. Surprisingly, he even makes sure his teammates have time to pray in between training sessions.

“When the call to prayer (Adhan) rings out during practice, Ronaldo asks the coach to pause the session until it’s concluded,” the former goalkeeper revealed, showcasing the Portuguese star’s respect for the faith.

Abdullah said Ronaldo’s interest in the local way of life was apparent when he first came to Saudi Arabia.

“In the beginning, I was close to Cristiano because he wasn’t familiar with the country’s culture, the club, or other aspects. He was eager to learn and would often query me about various details,” Abdullah said. He was also greatly inspired to learn more about Islamic culture by the influence of his former teammates, notably well-known figures like Mesut Özil and Karim Benzema.

As these rumours spread, they give the already captivating tale of Ronaldo’s career in the Saudi Pro League yet another intriguing dimension.

Although Ronaldo’s possible conversion has generated debate, Abdullah emphasized the player’s commitment and self-control regardless of his religious convictions. Ronaldo hasn’t said anything about his plans to convert in the interim.
