Ronaldo’s current deal with the Saudi club expires at the end of June.
Following rumours of Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from Al-Nassr, Fabrizio Romano has shed light on the Portuguese star’s future at the club. He revealed that Ronaldo is set to sign a new deal with the club as formal documents are being checked.
It’s just a matter of time before Ronaldo will ink a new deal with Al-Nassr, with only formal details set to be completed. We could see the player either sign a one or a two-year contract.
However, the two-year thing will also depend on the player’s wish to extend his deal until 2027. Once the official news is confirmed, it will be a big move for the Saudi Pro League to retain Ronaldo for another two years. The relatively unknown part is, Ronaldo will have full control over the transfers Al-Nassr make this summer.
Ever since the Saudi Pro League 2024-25 season concluded, Ronaldo’s future has remained uncertain. The forward was linked with many clubs. Even before the start of the FIFA Club World Cup, the former Real Madrid player was courted by many teams that were participating in the tournament.
Cristiano Ronaldo turned down offers from Club World Cup teams
Ronaldo himself revealed that a few clubs did make an approach, but the former Juventus star declined every offer as he wanted to continue at Al-Nassr. Now, with recent news, it will be interesting to see how many years the forward will extend his deal.
Once the deal is done, Ronaldo will get a good platform to continue playing football and prepare for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in North America, which could be his last chance to get his hands on the only grand trophy missing from his career.
Currently, Ronaldo is enjoying his vacation after he once again ended a season trophyless. The player is yet to win the league title with the Saudi club.
With a new contract extension on the horizon, Ronaldo will have another opportunity to lead his team to the Saudi Pro League title next season. For now, all eyes are on the official announcement confirming the extension.
