The Portugese star is turning 40 very soon

According to ex-Man United coach Rene Meulensteen, Cristiano Ronaldo still has a few career objectives to pursue, one of which involves his son Cristiano Jr.

Five times Ballon d’Or winner, alongside significant club and Portugal-related accolades, CR7 has accomplished nearly everything at the pinnacle of world football. He has broken innumerable records and solidified his place among the greatest of all time.

At 39, Ronaldo isn’t showing any signs of slowing down; he plans to accomplish 1,000 career goals before thinking about retiring. It is probable that the most motivated figure would look to NBA legend LeBron James for inspiration, but he will also be establishing other goals.

Cristiano Ronaldo to follow in the footsteps of LeBron James?

Since Cristiano Jr. is making an impression in Al-Nassr’s academy system, Ronaldo might try to follow in James’ footsteps in the football world. James is currently playing with his son Bronny for NBA’s LA Lakers. In an interview with GOAL, former Manchester United coach Meulensteen was asked if Ronaldo would want to play beside Cristiano Jr.

“One hundred per cent. He would love that. Maybe that might be extra motivation for him to keep going and waiting for that time to come.

“I said it years and years ago, Ronaldo will never leave as a candle that slowly burns down. If he feels that he can still make a massive contribution in the way he keeps going and playing, scoring goals. But there is a cut-off point for everybody, where the game runs away from you. That can sometimes happen whether you want it or not. I’m sure he has got plenty of motivation in him. He’s a fit boy, he looks after himself so well, and I bet he would love to play alongside his son.”

There has been much conjecture about Cristiano Ronaldo’s next move because he has not yet extended his record-breaking contract at Al-Nassr, which is set to expire in 2025. Given their other objectives for him in the Saudi Pro League and elsewhere, Meulensteen does not see the Portuguese great returning to Europe.
