Croatia predicted lineup vs Panama for FIFA World Cup 2026

Croatia will look to right the ship when they meet Panama in Group L. They come after being beaten 4-2 by England in their opening match of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The Europeans side had some attacking potential against England but came up empty-handed.

Meanwhile, Panama faced Ghana in their opening match. They need a win if they are to have any chance of remaining in the World Cup.

Croatia are likely to keep much of the squad from their first game of the tournament. Several of the experienced internationals are likely to see their seats retained for the Vatreni.

The players who are expected to start on the field will be captain Luka Modrić, Joško Gvardiol, Ivan Perišić and Dominik Livaković. Croatia will be in a 4-2-3-1 lineup.

Who all are expected to be in the starting lineup?

Dominik Livaković is still pencilled in for the Croatia goal. The defence will probably feature Josip Stanišić and Joško Gvardiol as full-backs and Josip Šutalo and Luka Vušković as the central defensive pair.

The midfield will have a different use. Mario Pašalić and the team’s leader, Luka Modrić expected to be used in deeper positions, controlling the game and distributing it. Martin Baturina and Petar Sučić are probably going to assist the attack. Meanwhile, Ivan Perišić will provide width on the left.

Croatia are expected to be led by Petar Musa. They will be aiming for the first victory in the tournament. The striker will look to become a focal point in attack.

Modrić remains the key playmaker. He will be one of the most important players for the team. Meanwhile, Gvardiol’s defensive abilities and Perišić’s attacking ability will play vital roles against Panama.
