The Eagles will go toe-to-toe with City in the final tomorrow.

Premier League teams Crystal Palace and Manchester City will square off in the 144th FA Cup final on Saturday afternoon under the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium.

The Eagles want to claim the most significant trophy in their 120-year history as a professional club, while the Cityzens are vying to win England’s most prestigious cup tournament for the seventh time.

The Eagles, one of four teams to play in two FA Cup finals without ever taking home the trophy after losing the first two to Manchester United in 1990 and 2016, have advanced to their third final.

Oliver Glasner’s team has easily advanced to the Wembley final after wins over Fulham, Aston Villa, Millwall, Doncaster Rovers, and Stockport County.

They have only given up one goal in the tournament so far this campaign. They have scored precisely three goals in each of the last three rounds. Three weeks ago, they defeated Villa handily in the semi-finals, winning 3-0.

Glasner will look to employ a strong lineup that got the job done on their route to the final. Below we take a look at their predicted lineup for the FA Cup final.

Crystal Palace’s predicted lineup for the FA Cup final

Crystal Palace predicted lineup for the FA Cup final (3-4-2-1): Henderson (GK); Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Hughes, Wharton, Mitchell; Eze, Sarr; Mateta

Adam Wharton, a midfielder who missed last weekend’s victory over Spurs due to a twisted ankle, will be evaluated prior to kickoff. Palace are anxious about his fitness. Meanwhile, Cheick Doucoure and Chadi Riad are still out due to chronic knee issues.

Last time out, Will Hughes and Jefferson Lerma both began in centre-midfield in Wharton’s absence and are likely to keep their spots. Daichi Kamada is another midfield alternative that might be chosen.

Eze, who is in excellent form, has contributed to four goals in as many FA Cup games (three goals, one assist) and scored five goals in his past four outings. Alongside Ismaila Sarr, who scored two goals in Palace’s victory against Aston Villa in the semi-final, the England international is anticipated to start in an advanced position.

Jean-Philippe Mateta is expected to lead the line. Glasner is likely to stick with an unchanged back five that will shield former Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson in goal.

Eddie Nketiah, a 2020 FA Cup winner with Arsenal, will be vying for a start after contributing to a goal in each of his last three FA Cup appearances (two goals, one assist).
