Danish Dynamite are the clear favourites to win at home against the Eagles.

Denmark will clash against Serbia in their League A Group 4 match on 8th September. This would be the Danes’s second match at the UEFA Nations League after taking on Switzerland in their opening fixture. Similarly, this would also be the Serbians’ second match in the competition. They played against Spain at home in Belgrade on the 6th of September.

The Danes, who would undoubtedly be the favourites to win, will surely leave no stone unturned to get that win at home. The Serbians too would be ready to spoil the party of the Danish fans in Copenhagen. Ironically these two teams were also in the same group at the recently concluded Euro’s.

Denmark not only managed to progress from that particular Euro 2024 group but also made it to the quarter-finals for the second time in a row. On the contrary, Serbia’s campaign had a bitter end. They drew two of their matches and lost one which signaled their eviction from the competition.

Kick-Off:

Sunday, 8th September, 9:30 PM IST

Location: Parken Stadium, Copenhagen, Denmark

Players to watch:

Christian Eriksen (Denmark)

Christian Eriksen simply cannot be ignored. The Danish team lights up whenever he comes out to play. Eriksen is known for his immaculate ball control and ability to dart around players with absolute ease.

He is going to serve as the connecting point between the defence and attack. It will be interesting to see how he controls the tempo of the match. The Serbians will surely have to keep an eye out for him if they don’t want this important game to slip out of their hands. Eriksen’s versatility surely puts him a cut above the rest and makes him an asset for the Danish team.

Luka Jovic (Serbia)

If Denmark has Christian Eriksen, Serbia has the services of Luka Jovic at their disposal. Jovic is undoubtedly one of the most underrated players in the game today. The AC Milan man was part of some big clubs namely Real Madrid and Fiorentina but it was at Eintracht Frankfurt where he really shone the most.

He scored 25 goals for Frankfurt. Jovic’s performances have been erratic which is why he has been sidelined on many occasions. In spite of those little setbacks, he is indispensable for the Serbians. Jovic also scored that important last-minute goal at the 2024 Euro that helped his country come back from a certain defeat against Slovenia.

Match prediction for Denmark vs Serbia

As things stand it seems that Denmark are the favourites to win. The Danes have never lost a match against Serbia and will certainly look to keep that record intact. The visitors will really have to do something special to steal a win from enemy territory. Chances are slim but as they say, football is a game of unpredictability and anything can happen on a given day.
