Ecuador vs Jamaica: All-time head-to-head record | Copa America 2024

Ecuador opened their Copa America campaign with defeat.
Last week, Ecuador’s winning streak of two matches came to an end when they were forced to play a man short for more than an hour against Venezuela.
After 22 minutes, a VAR red card judgement put them down to ten men, putting Felix Sanchez Bas’s team on the defensive and reducing their possession to only 16%. They lost for just the third time in their previous 11 games while still managing to take the lead five minutes before the half.
La Tri have already lost their first game in this competition for the third time in a row, and they have now lost their last nine Copa America matches.
The Jamaicans had opportunities on Saturday to stop their losing streak in their ongoing quest for a Copa America first win. Early in the second half, Michail Antonio appeared to have headed his team ahead, but VAR disallowed the goal because it was offside. Heimir Hallgrimsson thought his team had taken the lead.
Gerardo Arteaga’s incredible volley gave Mexico the lead and broke Reggae Boyz’s winning streak of three games. The Jamaicans have not won a single point in their last seven Copa America games and have not scored a goal in that period either.
