England to train in 'heated tents' to prepare for 2026 FIFA World Cup: Report

The Three Lions will face Andorra in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
In order to simulate the circumstances they might encounter in the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico next year, England are training in heated tents. For the training camp, Thomas Tuchel and his team are in Girona, Spain.
On Saturday, England will play Andorra in a World Cup qualifying match. On June 10, they will play Senegal in an exhibition match at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground.
The head coach of England and the Football Association’s (FA) performance department will examine how players can handle the intense heat and humidity they may encounter during the World Cup as part of the training camp.
Players will test their fitness on exercise bikes inside the tents. These conditions are thought to be similar to those they would experience during the competition. Later, their recuperation will also be evaluated.
Speaking last week, Tuchel stated that he will visit the Club World Cup in the United States this summer to evaluate the circumstances, which he anticipates will make his players “struggle” in the competition.
“It is important to see matches now in America, and in Miami at three in the afternoon,” Tuchel said.
“I will see that. How it looks, and we need to understand how to cool the players down, to drink. What our options are.”
“Let’s see because it is after the season, so it will be very similar. The actual experience is for the players, but I have done pre-season there in Orlando and I will be very surprised if we do not suffer. Suffering is one of the headlines for this World Cup.”
Temperatures at 14 of the 16 stadiums hosting the 2026 World Cup have been warned to reach “potentially dangerous levels” during the competition. Over 80 per cent of June and July days in the host city, Dallas, are warmer than 28 degrees Celsius on average.
Under Tuchel, England have won both of their World Cup qualifying matches and are now leading Group K.
