Erling Haaland & Florian Wirtz injury update ahead of Premier League 2025-26 Gameweek 29
City and the Reds have lost their star players to injuries.
Manchester City are hoping that Erling Haaland’s injury over the weekend is not too serious, and Pep Guardiola has now allayed any fears of a knee injury.
Due to an undisclosed injury acquired during training before the match, the Norway striker was unable to play in City’s 1-0 Premier League triumph at Leeds on Saturday.
Although manager Pep Guardiola did not provide a specific timeline for the 25-year-old’s potential return, it is believed that the problem is not a serious one.
Prior to Wednesday’s matchup with Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium, Haaland, who has bagged 29 goals in all competitions this season, will be evaluated on Monday and Tuesday.

However, Guardiola has dismissed any issues of knee injury in recent press confernece and he feels the forward should return in the upcoming matches:
“I can confirm Erling Haaland’s injury is not a knee injury”.
Arne Slot issues injury update on Florian Wirtz
As Liverpool prepare for back-to-back games against Wolves, Arne Slot has provided update on Florian Wirtz.
Wirtz was left out of Liverpool’s matchday squad for their 5-2 victory over West Ham on Saturday after suffering back pain during the warm-up and being pulled from the starting lineup for last week’s game against Nottingham Forest.
Ahead of the Wolves Premier League clash, Slot said:
“But let’s see how it ends up. We hope to have him back somewhere next week. Maybe earlier, maybe a bit later, but that time scale.”
Florian Wirtz will miss the next two games, as Arne Slot confirms, not expected to return before next week.
