Erling Haaland 'interested' in joining Real Madrid: Report

The Norwegian current contract with Manchester City runs until 2027.

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland could join Real Madrid. The Norwegian forward is interested in signing for the Spanish giants. This is according to the reports from the Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, which claims Haaland is attracted by the idea of joining Madrid.

It is also believed that the two parties have a mutual interest in a possible transfer to the Spanish club. Haaland, whose contract expires in 2027 has a 150 million euro release clause in City’s contract.

Man City are aware of Haaland’s intention to join a big club in the coming future. This has seen the Premier League club have already started looking for a replacement for Haaland. Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres has emerged as a possible candidate to replace the Norwegian in future.

Haaland has continuously linked with a move to Madrid, and soon it could become a reality reports suggest that the striker might join them in 2025, which could mainly be due to the future of Pep Guardiola at the club whose contract will end after the conclusion of the season.

Ever since joining City, the former Borussia Dortmund striker has enjoyed a prolific time at the club, having led them to a Champions League league and two Premier League titles.

This season the 24-year-old already has ten goals in eight Premier League matches as he continues his fine form for the English club.

FC Barcelona also interested in signing Erling Haaland

Not only Madrid, but FC Barcelona have also shown interest in signing Haaland, but their financial problem could prevent them from spending a massive sum on the striker’s acquisition.

This could give Madrid a clear path for the signing of the former Dortmund striker in future as they have already bought Kylian Mbappe and signing Haaland will further reinforce their attacking line.

Currently, it all appears to be speculations and it will be interesting to see how his future unfolds at the club as the Guardiola side aims to win their fifth title in a row this season.
