FA Cup prize money: How much Manchester City or Crystal Palace will bank by winning at Wembley

City will face the Eagles in the final of the competition this season.
The FA Cup is one of the finest cup competitions in England. This weekend is the 2024–25 FA Cup competition’s final, which is always an exciting event.
The current champions, Manchester United, were defeated by Fulham. Hence, this season will see a new winner.
Manchester City are seeking retribution after losing to Manchester United 2-1 in the previous year’s final, which gave Erik ten Hag a stay of execution prior to his firing in November.
Crystal Palace have never won a major trophy, while Manchester City hope to wrap up a poor season with some silverware after an early exit in the UEFA Champions League and their inability to win the Premier League title.
Recently, the two faced off in the league, with City winning 5-2. But expect the final to be much tighter. However, there is more than just the trophy at stake; there is also some cash up for grabs.
FA Cup 2024/25: Prize money
Compared to the Premier League and UEFA Champions League, the FA Cup prize fund is modest. Just participating in the top division brings in over £100 million for clubs each season, and UEFA’s flagship competition distributes a total of £2 billion.
This year’s FA Cup winner will take home £2 million, while the runners-up will take home £1 million. Naturally, winning the FA Cup entails much more than just financial gain because the victor will have lifelong memories.
With both teams hoping to finish their campaigns on a strong note, the loser still receives £1 million for their troubles.
Palace are participating in the major event for the first time since 2016, while City are making their third appearance in the FA Cup final in three years.
The teams have already earned £1.6 million to advance to this point in the tournament, and following their match at Wembley, they hope to triple that amount.
