Inter Milan and Manchester City knocked out after shocking defeats.
The knockout stage of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has begun. We will continue to see great teams from all over the world fighting for the mega prize pool and a glorious trophy.
The mega competition is taking place in the United States of America this time around. Even under the harsh climatic conditions, players are giving their all to help their side come out on top.
This edition of the Club World Cup kicked off with 32 teams battling for the mega prize. But after the group stage got over, only 16 teams entered the knockout stage of the mega competition. Neither of the games hereon can be called easy, as teams will get to face only the best from all respective regions.
A couple of matches of the round of 16 are done. We got to experience some interesting things out of it. In the all-Brazilian fixture between Palmeiras and Botafogo, the Verdao came out on top in what was a close fixture. Both sides did come up with a solid performance, but Palmeiras were slightly better, which helped them seal a spot in the quarterfinals.
The Liga Portugal side SL Benfica, who defeated the German giants Bayern Munich in their last group stage match, fell prey to Chelsea in the round of 16. Benfica came up with a lacklustre performance, which led to their elimination from the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. The Blues did outplay the Portugal-based club completely.
The remaining teams will not look out for an easy outing and will be looking to give their all on the world stage. We do have clubs like Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Manchester City and more battling, but it will be interesting to see which of them will come out on top. There are also the so-called ‘underdog clubs’ in the title race. But we predict it is not going to be an easy task for them.
The club which will outplay every other team they face will get to wear a special badge on their jerseys. It will help signify their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 win status for the next four years.
