Santos are around the relegation zone.

Flamengo defeated Santos 3-2 in the 33rd round of the Brazilian Serie A, but the match was marred by a contentious incident regarding Neymar.

When Neymar was leaving the field with the score at 3-0, Flamengo fans taunted and insulted the Brazilian star.

Flamengo fans booed Neymar following his substitution

In fact, Santos are currently in the relegation zone, standing 17th in the Serie A table. They have six games left in the season to close the two-point deficit to 16th place.

“Neymar, f**k off! You came back to Santos only to play in the second division!” chanted the Flamengo fans.

Meanwhile, Neymar’s joining the club has done little to help in steering the team to wins, as the forward has continued to battle with injuries and spent most of the time on the sidelines.

Neymar recently returned from an injury and has featured in two matches so far, but he has not been able to guide his side to a win in either fixture.

Santos are now staring down at the relegation zone once again after fighting their way back into the top division of the Brazilian league before the start of the season. Neymar has also failed to remain clinical, as he has only three goals in the Serie A so far.

Moreover, his frequent ailments have also reduced his chances of playing in the World Cup next year, as he has not been called up to the national team in the previous games.

However, with six matches left to play before the end of the season, Santos will hope to count on their star forward to inspire them to wins and avoid another relegation to the second division.

If he is to prove his fitness, he will have to remain fit throughout the end of the campaign and illustrate that he is ready to lead the line for the national team.

They are 17th in the table.

How many league games have they won?
