Former Real Madrid scout reveals Florentino Perez might sell Vinicius Jr to keep Kylian Mbappe

The Brazilian has become the club’s mainstay.
Vinicius Jr has been warned by former Real Madrid scout Manolo Romero. As per Romero, President Florentino Perez prefers Kylian Mbappe more than the Brazilian.
After Mbappe’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired, Real Madrid president Perez finally had the opportunity to finalize his dream acquisition of the Frenchman in the summer. However, with Vinicius and Rodrygo established in one of the world’s top assaults, the 26-year-old’s arrival looked completely unneeded.
Since joining Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, Mbappe has found it difficult to maintain his peak performance. Vinicius plays on the left wing and thus the former PSG star is forced to play through the middle of the attack. According to Romero, a former Real Madrid scout, Perez would sell Vinicius for the right amount because Mbappe is the club’s “darling.”
In an interview with SPORT, Romero stated:
“I was convinced that he [Vinicius] would leave. If they come with more than €300 million, I am convinced that Florentino will sell him, that he even takes him to the airport in his car.
“The thing is that €300 million is a lot of money. I think Florentino’s darling is going to be Mbappe. He has been behind him for seven years.”
Al-Ahli were prepared to approach and possibly surpass the $1.086 billion buyout clause in Vinicius Jr.’s contract. Even though Real Madrid could have received a significant transfer fund from the offer, they concluded that keeping the Brazilian would be better for the squad.
The Brazilian forward is expected to sign a new deal that could make him the highest-paid player at Real Madrid. Vinicius Jr. is now the third-highest-paid player on the team, behind David Alaba and Kylian Mbappe.
After the 2024–25 campaign, the team will speak with Vinicius, who wants to be paid as much as some of the previous Galacticos.
Although the Brazilian has been strongly linked to a move to the Saudi Pro League, it doesn’t appear realistic that he will leave Europe while he is still at the top of his game.
