France predicted lineup for Poland clash in Euro 2024; Kylian Mbappe to start?

A point here will seal Les Bleu’s spot in the last 16.

France have made an excellent start to the tournament after gathering a win and a draw in the opening two matches. The team has looked impressive with the addition of N’Golo Kante who was recalled to the side after two years of absence.

Les Bleus secured a narrow victory over Austria in the opening match followed by a goalless draw against Netherlands in the last match. A point here will help them secure their place in the last 16 of the competition. 

France predicted lineup (Formation: 4-2-3-1) 

GK: Mike Maignan

Mike Maignan is having an impressive campaign so far after keeping two clean sheets in the opening two matches. He has made seven saves in these matches keeping a hundred percent saving record. Maignan made 29 appearances for AC Milan this season keeping 10 clean sheets. His ability to claim the ball from the corner helps the team in set pieces. 

RB: Jules Koundé

The Barcelona man had an impressive campaign this season as he helped the team to qualify for the Champions League. Predominantly playing in the central defense for most of his career, Koundé is also comfortable at the right-back position. After impressing for Barcelona this season, he has also impressed in the opening quarter of the tournament. 

CB: William Saliba

William Saliba had a remarkable campaign for Arsenal in the Premier League. He was probably the best center-back in the league alongside Gabriel. He has continued his form in the Euro 2024 so far after helping the team in the back without conceding a single goal. He made 7 recoveries in these matches while also without getting dispossessed a single time. 

CB: Dayot Upamecano

Dayot Upamecano has developed an impressive performance with Saliba at the back as the pair are yet to concede a single goal. He has won all the aerial duels he has attempted while making five recoveries. Despite playing as a center-back, Upamecano has created two chances for the team and showcases the qualities he brings to the side. 

LB: Theo Hernandez

Theo Hernandez has performed excellently in the opening two matches. His ability to provide the threat in attack while doing the defensive duties efficiently makes him a useful addition to the team. While creating two chances for the team, Hernandez has also made seven ball recoveries and has won most of the duels he attempted. The AC Milan man also has excellent passing accuracy in the competition with 91.6%.

CM: N’Golo Kante

N’Golo Kante has proved to be an excellent addition, proving Deschamps’s decision to bring him in the side right. He has given back-to-back man-of-the-match performances in the opening two matches. His ability to make crucial interventions and tackles makes him a vital cog in the team. Despite not being known for his creativity, he has still managed to create five chances for the team. He has made ten recoveries and has won the duel nine times. 

CM: Adrien Rabiot

The Juventus man had an incredible season with the team after scoring five goals in 35 matches while also adding three assists. Rabiot has been a regular under Deschamps after putting in a series of impressive performances. Rabiot is a threat from set pieces due to his physique while also scoring goals from out of the box. He has also created six chances in the opening two matches while also making 11 recoveries. 

RW: Ousmane Dembele

Ousmane Dembele has looked like a huge threat from the right-wing position. His partnership with Kounde on the right-hand side has been a delight to watch. Despite playing in the forward position, Dembele has also done the defensive work excellently. He has made six recoveries while also winning 14 duels and registering two assists in the opening matches. 

AM: Antoine Griezmann

Antoine Griezmann had a fantastic season with Atletico Madrid after scoring 24  goals and assisting another 8. His link-up play in the middle of the park has been impressive. Griezmann is yet to register an assist despite creating three chances. He has attempted seven shots so far while also having three on target. He was unlucky against the Netherlands after missing several glorious chances for the team. 

LW: Bradley Barcola 

Bradley Barcola is yet to make an appearance in the competition. With Mbappe a potential doubt for this match, he will be hoping to get the nod in this match. Barcola had an incredible campaign with PSG after enjoying a successful debut season there. He scored five goals in 39 matches while providing nine assists. His ability to beat defenders makes him a dangerous player in the wings. 

ST: Olivier Giroud

Olivier Giroud is the record goal scorer for the national team after beating the record of Thierry Henry. He made 135 appearances for the team scoring 57 goals. Giroud gives the team another dimension in attack as he can be a threat from crosses and set pieces. He will now aim to play another crucial role for the team with Mbappe a potential doubt, the responsibility will be on him to provide the goals.
