Many nations have raised their voices due to the ongoing situation in the USA.
A representative of Germany (DFB) has stated that it is time to think about boycotting the 2026 FIFA World Cup in response to the conduct of US President Donald Trump.
This summer, the United States, Canada, and Mexico will host the World Cup. Earlier last month, President Trump threatened to purchase Denmark-controlled Greenland, which infuriated European leaders.
The 79-year-old threatened to impose taxes on Germany and eight other European nations that disagreed with his proposal.
Germany wants to hold the 2026 World Cup boycott talks

Although Trump has subsequently retracted his warning, relations between the US government and European governments are still very tense.
“I really wonder when the time will be to think and talk about this [a boycott] concretely,” Oke Gottlich, a DFB vice-president, told the Hamburger Morgenpost newspaper.
“For me, that time has definitely come.”
78 of the 104 World Cup games this summer will take place in the United States. The Danish Football Association stated that it is “aware of the current sensitive situation,” while the French government stated that it is not currently in favour of a boycott.
Germany have won four World Championships: in 1954, 1974, 1990, and 2014. However, they were eliminated in the group stage of both the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Like all the global winners, the four-time champion is an essential component of this World Cup. A significant issue for the competition would be the lack of a world champion team.
For FIFA and the World Cup, a boycott idea is nothing new. But as of right now, all of these claims are speculative. They rely on a dynamic and constantly shifting geopolitical environment.
