Golden Boy 2025: Top 100 ranking revealed

Lamine Yamal is the current holder of the award.

Since its inception in 2003, the Golden Boy award, presented annually to the most outstanding young player in Europe, has evolved into one of the most prestigious honours in football. One of the award’s requirements is that no player can win it more than once, and there have been 22 winners.

The Italian daily Tuttosport first established the Golden Boy award and has since expanded to include votes from several European media, including L’Equipe in France, Bild in Germany, and The Times in the United Kingdom. Since 2003, five Spaniards have been crowned Golden Boys, making Spain the nation with the most Golden Boy honorees.

Even though there is still a lot of football to be played in 2025, some of the arguments made for the players on this list may become more compelling as the season progresses. As previously mentioned, the Golden Boy awards have stringent requirements.
