The Bavarians are eight points ahead of Bayer Leverkusen.
As Bayern Munich get closer to winning the Bundesliga, Harry Kane may finally win his first major prize next to next weekend.
It might be sufficient for Bayern to be named champions if they defeat Mainz and RB Leipzig to lift the title this season.
The sole contenders heading into the weekend are Bayer Leverkusen, who unexpectedly defeated Bayern to win the Bundesliga last season. That was Kane’s first year in Germany and the first time Bayern had not won the league in more than ten years.
Bayern would only need six points because they are eight points ahead of second-place Bayer Leverkusen. Vincent Kompany has had his fair share of problems in his debut season as Bayern’s coach, but the Belgian international should be able to deliver the title this season.
However, the main attention will be on the England international who has been starved of a major trophy throughout his career. Despite playing in so many finals, Harry Kane failed to get his hands on any big trophy.
Despite all of his individual goalscoring achievements, Harry Kane has not yet won a significant team award in his 15-year playing career for the national team and clubs.
Tottenham lost three major finals and finished second in the Premier League in 2016–17 despite Kane’s 29 goals. He also finished second in the Euro 2020 and 2024.
But this time, he will finally have a chance to add a title to his resume and end the long-lasting trophy curse. Meanwhile, in terms of goals, Harry Kane has been prolific for the German club as he continues to break records. The England international is the top scorer in the Bundesliga.
The forward recently set a new record when he scored a goal in Bayern Munich’s 4-0 away win over Heidenheim. He reached 60 goals for them in 60 matches, breaking Erling Haaland’s previous goalscoring record for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.
