Harry Kane to extend Bayern Munich contract? Club director confirms talks

Max Eberl, sports director of Bayern Munich, has confirmed that the Bundesliga league leaders are in negotiations with Harry Kane regarding extending the striker’s contract.
After Bayern paid an initial 100 million euros (£86.4 million) in August 2023 to sign Kane. The England captain signed a four-year contract with the German club.
Since then, Harry Kane has scored 119 goals and provided 30 assists in 126 games for Bayern, winning the Bundesliga in 2024–2025 to earn his first major trophy, among other titles.
But a lot of rumours have come up regarding a return to the Premier League, with Man United and Tottenham both showing interest. He has also been linked with LaLiga giants FC Barcelona, as a possible replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
This season, Harry Kane has scored 34 goals for Bayern in all competitions. Along with Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, he is currently perhaps the best striker in Europe overall.
Bayern Sporting director confirms talks for Kane’s contract extension
Despite being 32 years old, Harry Kane’s record in front of the goal shows no indications of deterioration. But rather, his influence in the team has increased under Vincent Kompany.
Earlier this season, he became the fastest player in the twenty-first century to score 100 goals for a single team. Bayern are ready to offer him a new contract because his current one expires in 2027.
“We are talking to Harry,” Eberl told Sky Germany.
“Everyone knows at some point a decision has to be made,” he added.
Still on the lookout to surpass former Bayern forward Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 goals in a single Bundesliga season, he has registered 34 goals in 30 games for Vincent Kompany’s team this season, notably 21 goals in 19 Bundesliga games.
Throughout the first half of the season, Bayern have benefited from outstanding returns from Kane in the final third. Given that he had to play a little deeper in Jamal Musiala’s absence, the English forward’s record in front of the goal was particularly noteworthy. He put up endless effort off the ball.
Jamal Musiala’s return to full fitness allows Harry Kane to play as a pure number nine and increase his goal total. With Bayern in a strong position in all competitions, the club’s supporters will be hoping that Kane can lead them to a treble and leave his mark on the club’s history. While the management of Bayern will be hoping he inks a new deal as soon as possible.
