Mate tea is famous among South American people.
Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, in a video, explained how to make the famous South American drink, ‘mate.’
He started the video by putting the ‘Yerba’ (The leaves of the plant can be steeped in hot water to make a beverage) in his cup. He filled about three-quarters of the Yerba in his cup and shook the cup to remove the dust, and proceeded to place the Yerba on one side of the cup, which is optional.
He then poured hot water (around 90°C or 194°F) on the other side of the cup and waited for the water to be absorbed by the Yerba. He waits for the water to dry out before putting more hot water in and then placing a straw inside the cup to drink it.

Yerba mate, often known as mate (pronounced mah-teh), is a traditional hot beverage from South America that is high in caffeine and produced from chopped and dried yerba mate leaves.
