How Amad Diallo has become difference-maker for Ruben Amorim's Manchester United?
The forward has exploded onto scene under the Portuguese manager.
In the recent Manchester derby, Amad Diallo was the main attraction, and his zeal and hunger ultimately determined the outcome.
Diallo was seen as the game’s vibrant spot even before Manchester United’s incredible late comeback victory at Etihad Stadium.
Amad Diallo was the only player on the field who appeared to be having fun and attempting to make an impression anytime he took possession of the ball. He also happened to be the only player from either side who performed freely and fearlessly.
Both teams played a lot of cautious play, but Amad Diallo stood out and eventually earned his due for his efforts. He first won the penalty that gave Manchester United the equalizer, which altered the course of the match, and then he scored their winner a few seconds later.
How has Amad become a difference-maker under Ruben Amorim?
The ability to remain in a game till the very end is what distinguishes the best players from the average ones. By making the turnaround in a handful of minutes, Amad overcame a dismal first half in which he twice went offside. Throughout the game, the Ivorian had been putting pressure on Matheus Nunes, the substitute left-back, until he changed wings and the Portugal international was forced to foul him in the area.
Amad Diallo was criminally over-looked by Erik ten Hag but he has quickly emerged as the most important player in Amorim’s first month in charge and this performance could be the making of his Old Trafford career. He has contributed to six of the 14 goals United have scored on the Portuguese’s watch and even when he was not performing at his best at the Etihad Stadium, he always looked like the player most likely to make a difference.
Ruben Amorim seems to have put massive faith in Amad and it appears like it will certainly repay given how the forward has been putting up a show despite not being consistent in every game. Amad has shown that if he gets a chance he will unquestionably make a big difference in the game.
Amad was also a big threat from the right wing but he never received a chance to showcase under Ten Hag, who continued to use Antony despite the Brazilian inability to make a difference.
Amorim deserves a lot of respect for sticking to his principles and refusing to be bullied by anyone. He even left leading scorers Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho out of the squad against City. The 39-year-old saw how vulnerable the City defence was despite the lack of attackers and scored when the opportunity presented itself.
Under Amorim, Diallo has flourished, tallying four goals this season. For the winger, who has a ton of unrealized potential, the possibilities are endless if his shooting and decision-making skills improve.
