The Barcelona youngster has suffered constant injuries in his career.
Had injuries not been the issue in Ansu Fatiās playing career, he might still have been seen as one of the talented youngsters who could make waves in Europe, but the recurring injuries have foiled his young playing career, and now the forward has once again suffered a new injury to his foot.
Fati returned to Barcelona this summer and has been training with the club under new manager Hansi Flick, who seems to have been impressed by the 21-year-old.
In an attempt to acquire some playing time, Fati was loaned to Brighton & Hove Albion last term; unfortunately, he failed to contribute significantly and was constantly on the sidelines.
Ever since he returned to the club, there have been a lot of talks about his future, as Barcelona might sell him in order to raise funds for their summer signings. But his performance in the clubās preparation before the pre-season changed the clubās mind about selling him.
However, now that the injury casts doubt on his participation in the pre-season, the club has confirmed that Fati will remain in Spain and continue his training at the club. The forward is set to be on the sidelines for 3-6 months reports suggest.
Fatiās emergence in the Barcelona first team was surprising, as in his first campaign, the forward scored eight goals and provided one assist. But things fell apart after the forward tore the meniscus in his left knee on November 7, 2020, against Betis, and he had to undergo several surgeries that further derailed his development.
Ever since that horrific injury, Fati seems to have become injury-prone, which has also affected his smooth progress as a talented star.
Barcelona will hope that his foot injury is not serious and will expect the forward to make a comeback before the start of the new campaign fully fit to make an impression under the new coach and reignite his old form during his initial playing time at the club.
The club also released a statement after he picked up a foot injury: ā He is set to undergo conservative treatment in Barcelona and his return to training will be determined by his recovery timeā, as the club confirms.
