Mainoo is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Manchester United received an injury blow as Kobbie Mainoo is set to be out for a “few weeks” and maybe miss up to seven games during a critical time for Erik ten Hag.

Despite surviving the dismissal over the international break, Ten Hag is still under a lot of pressure following his team’s challenging start to the 2024-25 season.

The news of Kobbie Mainoo‘s injury is a setback. The expectations of an early comeback are off, as the midfielder might now return from injury during the next international break.

Due to a muscular issue, the 19-year-old had to be withdrawn from the England team last week. The Three Lions are under the leadership of temporary coach Lee Carsley although Thomas Tuchel will be taking the charge hereafter.

This weekend, Manchester United will play Brentford in the Premier League before travelling to play Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce in the UEFA Europa League.

After a hectic series of games against West Ham and Leicester City in the Carabao Cup, Chelsea and PAOK, there will be another match this time in the league against Steve Cooper’s team (Leicester) before the November international break.

Man United are already dealing with many injury setbacks. But the good news is some of them have returned to training and should be available for the Brentford game.

Harry Maguire will also be out for a few weeks after suffering an injury in the same match against Aston Villa as Kobbie Mainoo.

Nevertheless, Noussair Mazraoui resumed training on Thursday following an earlier medical procedure in which he experienced palpitations in his heart. Last week, the Morocco international had a little corrective treatment as a precaution to address a somewhat frequent issue over the years.

He resumed exercising at United’s Carrington training facility. But this was only the beginning of his recuperation. It is now unknown if he will be ready for Saturday’s Premier League match against Brentford.

After missing matches for Argentina and Ivory Coast respectively, Alejandro Garnacho (knee joint) and Amad Diallo (sickness) returned to training and are expected to play against the Bees.
