Arsenal’s draw against Crystal Palace can see the Reds lift the title.

Liverpool are very close to winning the Premier League, but the celebration of victory was postponed until at least the weekend due to Arsenal’s draw with Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.

The title would have theoretically gone to Liverpool if the Gunners had lost, but with four games remaining, Arsenal closed the gap to 12 points despite Jean-Philippe Mateta’s incredible finish salvaging a 2-2 draw for Palace.

Last Saturday, the Reds defeated Leicester City, increasing their lead to 13 points. However, Mikel Arteta’s Gunners are now 12 points adrift of Arne Slot’s team, and the Reds still need one more point to be mathematically secure the title.

This is because, with four games remaining, Arsenal can only earn a maximum of 79 points. A win or draw against Tottenham on Sunday will be sufficient to guarantee the title for Merseyside, who now have 79 points.

How many points do Liverpool need to win the Premier League title on Sunday?

Liverpool need just one more point to win the championship. On Sunday, April 27, they will play Tottenham at Anfield for their next chance to win the title

After Tottenham, Liverpool will travel to Chelsea on Sunday, May 4, and then play Arsenal at Anfield on May 11. As a result, Liverpool may soon get a guard of honour from the Gunners at Anfield.

Arsenal have four games remaining, while Arne Slot’s side has five. With a 26-game winning streak earlier in the season, the Reds have remained at the top of the table since November 2 and have lost only twice in the league.

Slot will go down as the seventh manager in Premier League history to secure a trophy in his first season and the tenth manager overall, while Virgil van Dijk will become the eleventh captain in club history to win a top division trophy.
