How much will it cost Manchester United to sack Erik ten Hag?
The Red Devils will have to chunk out a big sum to dismiss Ten Hag.
Manchester United are once again looking at rock bottom under Erik ten Hag. Nothing has changed at the club as they remain a struggling side in the Premier League. The club have looked a shadow of themselves. If this continues then soon Ten Hag will be given marching orders.
But for that, they face another issue as sacking the former Ajax head coach will cost the team big money. It is reported that the United board will have to pay Ten Hag £17.5 million if they decide to sack him.
This is something that could make the club put a lot of thought before making any decision. Other reports state that Ten Hag continues to have the backing of the club’s board. It has also been suggested that Ten Hag has time until the next international break to turn the fortunes around and save his job.
However, if things remain the same and Manchester United want to get rid of the Dutch manager, then the club will have to pay a staggering fee to dismiss him.
Ten Hag’s future was also doubtful before the start of the new season as the club’s board were reluctant to continue with him. But their win against Manchester City in the FA Cup final saw the board change their decision.
With many signings, it was believed that fans would finally witness the club’s return to winning ways. But the results have been frustratingly similar, almost nothing has changed yet. Their recent 3-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur has further intensified things.
Meanwhile, other managers have already started to be linked with Manchester United’s job. The likes of Gareth Southgate and Simone Inzaghi are seen as potential candidates to replace Erik ten Hag at the club.
However, the 54-year-old still has two games before the next international break. If he guides the club to win against both sides then surely some pressure will be relieved off him.
It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils will manage to bounce back from their defeat against Spurs or continue their abysmal form under Erik ten Hag.
