"I've got no idea,'' Ange Postecoglou on links to England job

Gareth Southgate announced his exit from the Three Lions’ job a few days ago.
Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou has addressed his links to the England job after Gareth Southgate confirmed he has left the position following another excruciating defeat in the Euro final.
England reached consecutive finals at the Euros and this time they faced Spain. With both sides coming into the final with contrasting runs, it was obvious the Spanish team were a better side and favourites to win the match.
As the referee blew the final whistle for the Euro 2024 final, England suffered yet another profound defeat. Their only major international title is still the 1966 FIFA World Cup.
It was the final nail in the coffin for Southgate who led the Three Lions to two Euro finals, the semi-finals at the 2018 World Cup and the quarter-finals at the 2022 World Cup. Following his announcement, the FA are now looking to find a pragmatic coach, with many top managers linked to the England job.
Spurs manager Postecoglou is also in line for the job, but when asked regarding the speculation, the Australian told BBC Scotland, “I’ve got no idea, I’ve been preparing for a game.” Postecoglou was speaking after his side’s 5-1 pre-season victory over Hearts. He further added, “I’m the Tottenham manager. That’s where I stand.”
The former Celtic coach took charge of the North London club at the start of last season and guided them to a fifth-placed finish. Spurs played a new brand of football which appeared exciting and will hope to make a big impact in the upcoming season under him.
Meanwhile, the Three Lions will be thankful for Southgate, who turned them into a tough national team at major tournaments and will now will look for a manager who can finally break the trophy curse which has loomed since 1966.
