Is Barcelona's Lamine Yamal the best right-winger in the world right now?
The Barcelona academy player has already become a star player in football.
Over the past 12 months, Lamine Yamal has become a teenage superstar. As a member of one of the most effective offensive units in the international championship, the Spaniard shone for La Roja at Euro 2024, recording four assists as Luis de la Fuente’s Spain won the trophy.
Having already won LaLiga and qualified for the Champions League, the 17-year-old has drawn parallels to some of the greatest players who have played the game in the last 20 years.
Thanks to his deft dribbling technique and left foot that resembles the wand of a younger Lionel Messi, Yamal is currently considered the heir apparent to the player’s reign.
He’s already accumulating awards. If he can accomplish even a small portion of what the Argentine wizard has throughout his career, he may become the greatest Spanish player of all time.
Yamal has been a part of Barcelona since he was a young boy, making his debut for the senior squad when he was fifteen. The Spanish attacker has voiced his desire to become a legend in the team and hopes he never has to leave.
Although Yamal is still only 17 years old, he has already emerged as Blaugrana’s most visible player and Hansi Flick’s main man. He has proven in his brief career that he can handle pressure better than others. Without a doubt, the sky is the limit.
Is Lamine Yamal already the best right-winger in the world?
Yamal is still young and there is a long way to go for him to further cement his legacy. It’s obvious that he is already getting so much attention. It’s mainly due to his talent because of what he has demonstrated at such a young age, which we rarely see in football.
He has so much maturity and understanding of the game making him more of a talented star who can do wonders throughout his playing career as he has already made his name in football. The world is already aware of his talent.
But he will have to continue putting in such performance week in and week out if he has to be called one of the best right-wingers. Fans start hyping a player when they watch a player who can make a difference in the game. This was the case with Ansu Fati when he broke out and became the most talented star of Barcelona.
But things were unfortunate as he never lived up to the hype and continued to suffer injuries that further made him a fringe player at the club. Hopefully, fans won’t put as much pressure on Yamal as he is still young and developing. But his performance in every game certainly makes him among the top 10 right-wingers in the world right now.
