The Brazilian was subbed off due to injury against Esteghlal.
Neymar was once again in action for Al-Hilal when they beat Esteghlal F.C. 3-0, thanks to a hattrick from Aleksandar Mitrovic. Despite the Saudi side prevailing in the match, they suffered a big setback as Brazilian forward Neymar seemed to have suffered another injury setback.
It was Neymar’s second game this season after the player returned from a long-term injury in Al Hilal match against Al Ain. Meanwhile, his second game didn’t last long as the former Barcelona player came in the 58th minute of his side’s Asian Champions League Elite match on Monday but was subbed off in less than 30 minutes after going to the ground holding his back on the right leg.
However, the injury is yet to be disclosed but the forward seems to have pulled up while stretching his leg out for the ball in the penalty area.
This is another blow for the player who suffered a knee ligament injury during Brazil’s qualifier against Uruguay before joining Al-Hilal and had to undergo knee surgery which kept him out for a year.
Neymar’s statement following forced substitution
After the game, Neymar revealed it’s nothing serious as he felt a cramp and hopefully he will be fit for their next match.
“I felt like a cramp but very strong! I will do exams and hope it’s nothing more”. “It’s normal for this to happen after 1 year, the doctors had already warned me, this is why I need to be careful and have more minutes to play”.
Neymar will have enough time to recover from his injury as he will next be in action against Al-Sadd in the AFC Champions League Elite on 26th November.
Meanwhile, Al Hilal have continued their fine form in all competitions and are top of the AFC tournament and also the Saudi Pro League. Neymar’s absence has not bothered them as other players have stepped up in all the matches to lead the club to wins without suffering any defeats.
